キャリアの前半となるSTAX/VOLT期はフリー・ソウル・シーンでも再評価され、ハイライトとなるCOLUMBIA/CBS期はまさに絶頂、今なおディスコ～スウェイ・ビートの代名詞として万人の知りうるところですが、華やかなキャリアの中で今まであまり注目されていなかった80年代中期以降は今こそ評価されうるべき成熟した洗練さを存分に発揮する都会的な大人のアーバン・メロウ・サウンドを体現している。
アーバン・ダンス・クラシック"You're The One"、魅力溢れる泣きのメロウ・チューン"Are You Through With My Heart" "You're The One"が当アルバムのハイライト。そしてボーナスを5曲追加！次作となる「IF ONLY KNEW」からのハイライト"Eternally" "The Good Times" "Giving You All I Got"3曲に加え、"You're The Best"のシングル・オンリー、Johyn Morales & Sergio MunzibaiによるM&M MIX & RE-EDITを収録。さすがのEXPANSION、今回も非常に良い仕事しております！
The Emotions defined a glorious period of 70s soul with their signature hits and collaboration with Earth Wind & Fire on "Boogie Wonderland", but their legacy is far from confined to that era. From Chciago, the Hutchinson sisters were performing gospel together as The Heavenly Sunbeams from the early 60s, recorded for Stax in the 60s and 70s, and are still recording today with new music still to come.
"Sincerely" was their first album for an independent label after leaving Columbia in 1981 and features one of their classiest ever recordings "All Things Come In Time". When released in 1984 the album also caught the mood of the period perfectly by employing the production skills of 'Osborne & Giles' and delivering an 80s boogie classic "You're The Best". The album is also rich with ballads and 'two step' beauties that soul connoisseurs have treasured for years.
"Sincerely" was originally released on the Red Label, an outlet for Lee Young Sr's 'Straight Life Productions Company'. Lee was later appointed an executive at Motown Records and leased the label a second project "If I Only Knew" which was released in 1985. Key tracks from that project are also included here as bonus tracks + remixes of "You're The Best" by the hottest remix team at the time Johyn Morales & Sergio Munzibai
