SADARの盟友として長年活動を共にし、地元シカゴでは彼と並び称されるほどの実力者。残念ながら2012年に急逝してしまっている。
レーベルオーナーのMARC DAVISが所持してきた彼の貴重なミックスをSOUL IN THE HOLEクルーと話し合い、この度パッケージ化。
ディスコ皿のレアなB面ミックスから、ラテン・フュージョン、ジャズ、ファンク、レアグルーヴをミックスしていくさまは、SADAR BAHARと同じ釜の飯を食ったといえる手腕。

Back in 1989 in Chicago on the south east side off 93rd street Soul In The Hole was formed by Sadar Bahar and Russell Dixon. Later in the years Lee Collins, Trent Odinieal, and Richie Rich joined the family. At it's original inception child hood friends Sadar and Russell worked as a team. They went record shopping together, DJ numerous parties together as well as held DJ residencys at Wings, Red Peppers, Negro League, and Slicks. To the worldwide disco scene Sadar is nothing less then a legend!! But there is an untold story about Russell Dixon that needs to be heard. Since the early 80's Russell's record knowledge and collection of disco, jazz fusion, obscure funk, and african grooves made him a party maestro. Also, his impecable ability to read a crowd and know what tune to play next is what made Russell legendary amongst the Chicago great DJs. He's spun with the likes of Lee Collins, Craig Alexander, Brian Reeves, Boo Williams, Gene Hunt, Glenn Underground, Rahaan, Julian Wareing and Marc Davis.
Unfortunately, Russell Dixon died in 2012 from health complications. He is sincerely missed by family, friends, and fans of his music. On a brighter note he left this mix of funky B side disco, jazzy Latin fusion and rare grooves!! He may be gone in physical form but Russell Dixon's music is Infinite Soul.
