'78年ソロ作『フィールズ・グッド・トゥ・ミー』を含む'79年デビュー作『ワン・オブ・ア・カインド』/'79年ライヴ盤『ザ・ブルーフォード・テープス』/'80年作『グラデュアリー・ゴーイング・トルネード』の公式4作品に、本邦初登場となる'80年北米NY公演8曲を収録した発掘ライヴ盤『LIVE AT THE VENUE』に幻に終わった4作目用スタジオ・リハーサル音源18曲からまとめられた『4TH ALBUM REHARSAL SESSIONS』、とアルバム2枚分の完全未発表音源が加えられた正にバンドの歴史を俯瞰する内容。さらに'78年ソロ作/'79年作のスタジオ2作品は、本BOXでしか聴けない5.1chサラウンド音源も収録したDVD-Aを追加したファンには堪らない内容。

マスタリング及び5.1chサラウンド・ミックスは現キング・クリムゾンのジャッコ・ジャクスジクが担当した新規ステレオ/サラウンド・ミックス音源を使用、'79年スタジオ/ライヴ作にはそれぞれボーナス・トラックとして「Five G out-take」「Manacles」を追加。各ディスクは2枚づつ収納する専用デジスリーヴに封入の上、キング・クリムゾン他数々の大物バンドのバイオグラフィー/解説を描けるシド・スミスによる詳細な新規バイオグラフィー及び活動当時の貴重写真を満載したカラー・ブックレットとメモラビア等豪華キットも添付。
