'14年作『THE ENDLESS RIVER』を持って、その活動に終止符を打ったProgressive Rockを代表するバンドの一つ、噂のバンド結成~飛躍期にあたる60年代末期~70年代初期未発表/貴重音源から選曲/編纂された'16年新編コンピ2枚組抜粋盤が3面デジスリーヴ仕様で登場!本盤は欧Warner/Parlophone配給盤、同時発売の27枚組豪華BOX SET収録音源から27曲を選曲/抜粋した編集盤、記念すべき'67年デビューSIngle'Arnold Layne'発表後から'71年作『MEDDLE』発表期までの間に録音されていたバンド・アーカイヴ音源のStudio/Live音源から選曲/編纂。Syd Barret在籍期の貴重な最初期Live音源にあたる'67年BBC Radio放送用'Flaming'Studio Liveを筆頭に、米Capitolによる告知用'Ummagumma Radio Ad'/伝説の'69年蘭Amsterdam公演から'Interstellar Overdrive'Live音源/'70年英Harvestのレーベル・サンプラー盤『PICNIC: A BREATH OF FRESH AIR』にのみ収録されていた'Embryo'等々ファン垂涎 & 狂喜乱舞の貴重音源を多数収録。
