■人種差別に激しく抗議した問題曲“フォーバス知事の寓話”が収録されたミンガスの代表作の一枚。ナット・ヘントフ・プロデュース、1960年ニューヨーク録音。
■同日録音された2曲がボーナス・トラックとして追加。さらに“stormy Weather”の1954年録音バージョンが収録されている。伝説のレーベルCandidに残した話題作。
