THE MISSION（ザ・ミッション）は、元・デッド・オア・アライヴ、シスター・オブ・マーシーのギタリストであったウェイン・ハッセイを中心に結成されたグルーブ。ゴシック色濃いロックから、元・レッド・ツェッペリンのベーシスト、ジョン・ポール・ジョーンズをプロデューサーに迎えたブリティッシュ・ハードロック・サウンドまで多彩な音を聴かせてくれます。本作はそのフォノグラム時代のアンソロジーです。
