■ビル・エヴァンス(p) とジム・ホール(g) という繊細な二人が対峙したデュオ・アルバム。まさに究極のリリシズム。
1962年ニューヨーク録音。ステレオ盤のみオリジナル盤に収録されなかったボーナストラックが2曲追加。
■1950年代から1960年代の前半はMONOとステレオの切り替え時期にもあたり、大きなレコード会社はレコード番号を変えてMONO盤、ステレオ盤の2種類を発売していた。当時のステレオはまだ技術的にも成熟していなかったこともあり本2枚組LPはMONOとステレオの音作り、音場の違いなどの聴き比べが可能。
