    ポール・マッカートニーの弟マイク・マクギア、後にグリムズに参加することになるジョン・ゴーマン、ロジャー・マッゴーからなるスキャッフォルドの全音源を集めた5CD+DVDアンソロジーBOX!


    元々リヴァプールの「ワン・ファット・レディ・オール・エレクトリック・ショー 」の一員だった3人は60年代初頭にトリオとして活動を開始。風刺的なコメディ・スケッチ、歌、詩を織り交ぜたパフォーマンスを披露した彼らは66年にパーロフォンと契約し、トップ10ヒット「Thank U Very Much」、ミリオンセラー1位の「Lily the Pink」、74年のトップ10ヒット「Liverpool Lou」(ポール・マッカートニーがプロデュース)など、一連のシングルをヒットさせました。アルバムも1ST「The Scaffold」に始まり「Live at The Queen Elizabeth Hall」、「L the P」、「Fresh Liver」、「Sold Out」といった作品を発表。仲間であるボンゾ・ドッグ・バンドと同様、彼らの活動には様々な側面があり、それはアルバムにもステージにも反映されていきました。彼らの音楽活動には、ジャック・ブルース、エルトン・ジョン、グレアム・ナッシュ、キース・ムーン、ポール・マッカートニーといった豪華なアーティストが参加しており、ギタリストのアンディ・ロバーツは頻繁に参加しました。


    本ボックス・セットには、スキャフォールドという独創性を持ったトリオの全て、全アルバムとシングルが初めてまとめてCD化され、さらにBBCラジオやスタジオ・レコーディング・セッションからの未発表曲13曲も収録し、DVDには最近再発見された69年にBBC TVで放送された「Scaffold at The Talk of the Town」ライブ・コンサートや、69年のBBC TVでの「Thank U Very Much」と「Lily the Pink」のプロモ・フィルムを収しています。ブックレットには多数の未公開写真やメンバーへのインタビューを含む新しいエッセイを収録したイラスト・ブックも付いています。
