シカゴ・ブルースを愛して止まない白人青年によって結成された英国発の正統派ブルース・ロック・バンドCLIMAX BLUES BAND。地元のクラブ・サーキットから全米トップ40へと上り詰めていくまさにその過程を追ったライヴ音源決定盤の登場です。73年ロンドンのTHE MARQUEE CLUBに始まり、74年ニュージャージー、76年ロンドンはGUILDFORD、そして79年マイアミ公演と英米を股にかけた全4公演を収録、マイアミ以外はこれまで未発表の貴重音源となっています。

ブルーアイドな洗練プロダクションでファンク・サウンドに挑戦した74年転換作『SENSE OF DIRECTION』やブギを基調としつつもレゲエやファンクなど同時代サウンドも見事に消化した75年名作『STAMP ALBUM』など、特にこの時期は様々なエッセンスを吸収してますます音楽性が洗練されていく時期・・・聴かないわけにはいきません。
