77年CHISWICKよりリリースされた言わずもがなのUK PUNK名作シングル!MANIACS、PHYSICALSで知られるALAN LEE SHAW在籍バンドRINGSの唯一作がオフィシャルリイシュー!! ギターのカッティングが印象的でシンプルながら味わい深い「I WANNA BE FREE」はやはり名曲。ジャケのカッコ良さも含めやはり7INCHで持つべき名盤。
Another Chiswick release in Paramecium Records, our fourth release is the amazing single of The Rings, I wanna be free / Automobile. The Rings were an unusual band so they were a young band fronted by an older underground musician (Twink, real name John Alder, veteran of many psychedelic bands including Tomorrow and The Pink Fairies). I wanna be free is a minimalist punk anthem, in which the song title and not much else by way of lyrics is chanted over and over again above a killer riff. This single was released in May of 1977 and was repressed two times more, one of these with a different sleeve, this Delga Press Limited edition has been used in our release. Now you can get it 35 years after for a few euros.
