D/TROIT / DO THE RIGHT THING / CD

Six-track mini album. No, it is not a new Mark Ronson record. Nor is it the latest from Leon Bridges. Nor Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings. This is Copenhagen quintet D/troit. The five members of D/troit have all earnt their stripes in garage-rock bands like The Magic Bullet Theory and The Breakers (signed to Little Steven's Wicked Cool label). But even though you can certainly sense the garage background in D/troit's music, this is all about great melodies, great sound and SOUL! Soul and R'n'B from the 60s and 70s known from the city that gave the band its name: Detroit. "Old school soul and r'n'b from the 60s and 70s is what makes our hearts beat faster, it is what makes our heads sing and our abdomens rotate. Soul Music is a timeless force. It speaks to us all; regardless of race, gender and age. We hope to contribute to this amazing heritage. Let us be quite clear; Copenhagen also has soul". D/troit. Guest star on this release is Detroit's finest rock'n'roll voice Mick Collins (The Dirtbombs , The Gories etc.).
