Lazara “Cachao” Lopez (Piano) Lazara Cachao started playing the piano when she was only six, at her own express wish. She studied at the highly renowned Escuela Nacional de Instructores de Arte in Habana (Cuba) and today she is firmly established with other Cuban top musicians. For example, Cachao has accompanied renowned orchestras such as the original “Buena Vista Social Club” on their world tours and has regularly been on the stage with legendary pianists such as Rub n Gonzalez. In this respect, she is following in the musical footsteps of her father, Orlando “Cacha to” Lopez*, the famous bassist of the “Buena Vista Social Club”.
