“Piperegrines. As gaitas do Camino” is the live recording of the show of the same name, in which for the first time some of the best pipers of the Iberian Peninsula, all artists with a long and recognized professional career, were brought together on the same stage, accompanied by excellent musicians in trio and duo formations, for a total of 18 artists on stage: Francesc Sans (sac de gemecs), Manel Martorell (mandola) and Titus Prats (percussion) from Catalonia; Adrian Gil (bagpipe), Alberto Navas (violin) and Serchio Pardos (guitar and percussion) from Aragon; Jose Manuel Tejedor (Asturian bagpipe), Richard Garcia (keyboards) and Daniel Alvarez (bouzouki and bodhran) from Asturias; Luis Antonio Pedraza (bagpipe), Carlos Beceiro (guitar) and Miguel Mateos (drums) from Castilla y Leon; Tiago Morais (Gaita transmontana and bagpipes) and Tiago Marques (accordion) from Portugal; and Oscar Ibanez (Galician bagpipe), Xose Liz (bouzouki) and Andres Vilan (cajon and bodhran) from Galicia.
This meeting highlights the importance of the bagpipe as a representative instrument of European cultures, while inviting viewers to a sound journey through the different Iberian bagpipes, with which to represent the important cultural exchange that took place in the different pilgrimage routes to Santiago.
