オランダ南部出身のカルト的ブラック・デス・メタル・バンド、MALIGNANTによる編集盤がリリース、本作は1989年の結成以降に制作された貴重なデモ音源をまとめた公式編集盤であり、バンドの 2作目のデモ、2本の公式リハーサル・デモ、そして特別収録としてASPHYX関連トラック が1曲収められている。録音には後にASPHYX、GOD DETHRONED、INHUMEで活躍するメンバーが参加しており、クラシック・ラインナップとしては Roel Sanders(ドラム)、Ben Janssen(ギター)、Ron van de Pol(ベース&ヴォーカル) が揃っています。RonはASPHYXの1994年作『ASPHYX』にも参加しており、両バンドの関係性を示す重要な音源となっている。本作は新規カバーアート、リマスター音源、そしてオランダ・デス/エクストリーム・メタルの歴史を解説する Steven Willems(Rock Tribune/Streams of Ancient Wisdom)による詳細なライナーノーツ を収録。また、特に注目すべきは、ASPHYXの名盤『ASPHYX』(1994年)を録音した Woodhouse Studios で録音されたトラック “Of Unsound Mind – Sectarianism” で、Malignant の全メンバーが同時にASPHYXにも在籍していたという貴重な一曲である。本作はMALIGNANTの初期活動を網羅するとともに、オランダ南部ブラック・デス・メタルの魅力を凝縮した 歴史的価値の高い編集盤 であり、デス・メタル・ファン必携の一枚。
