売切 注文不可From a background working in left-wing English fringe theatre groups, Punishment Of Luxury were a four-man post-punk band formed in December 1976 in the north-east of England, and released a single, Puppet Life on the Small Wonder label in June 1978. In 1979 they signed to United Artists and released the single Jellyfish/Engine Of Excess and the album Laughing Academy. 1980 saw the release of the single Secrets/Brain Bomb. All received critical acclaim and sold well. An extensive European tour followed and United Artists sent the band into the studio to record another album, a concept album to be called Gigantic Days.In 2007 they reunited and played a few songs for the bassist Jimi Giro's 50th birthday party. A little more than a year later they landed a gig at a small pub in Gateshead, in the north-east of England called The Three Tuns. The gig was considered a success and was written about in The Guardian newspaper The band are planning on more gigs in the future and possibly introducing more new material, of which a taster was given in the form of one song called Fracture at the Three Tuns. The album, culled from rehearsals in Detroit, for the band's 1973 tour, runs the gamut from full-fledged, ready-torecord tunes to the types of swampy jams that the band has claimed indicative of their studio songwriting process. This album explores the creative process that gave birth to nearly all the Stooges albums. Starting with a jam session, an oldie or two, or maybe a blues riff, the songs gradually took shape and were refined from there. Here we find the Stooges in rehearsal, messing around with songs by Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Cream, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. We hear the beginnings of songs that never went any further, such as Old King Live Forever , I Come From Nowhere or Wild Love , which had as much potential as any of their best material. In 1979, after both acts disbanded he started working with some friends as Clive Langer and the Boxes. The first-line up of the Boxes included, besides Langer himself (vocals and guitars), Deaf School friends Bette Bright and Steve Allen (backing vocals), Budgie (drums, former Spitfire Boys, Big in Japan) and Ben Barson (keyboards, brother of and main influence for Mike Barson, keyboard player with Madness). In March 1979 the group released their first 12 : The first vinyl release by the Boxes was warmly received by the press. Clive Langer, who by 1979 had already successfully produced Bette Bright, Madness and the Teardrop Explodes, put his experience and focus into re-vitalizing his solo project. In 1980, after a support tour with Elvis Costello, Clive Langer and a new line-up for the Boxes including Ben Barson on keyboards, James Eller on bass, Martin Hughes of drums, the brass section of the Rumour, plus Steve Allen and Bette Bright on backing vocals released a couple of singles (namely Splash (A Tear Goes Rolling Down) b/w Hello and It sAll Over Now b/w Lovely Evening), both of which were to be included in the band s first LP (except for the b-side Lovely Evening, already featured on the first 12 )¥2,085 (税込)盤質：- B+

It was belatedly released in 1995, 22 years after it was recorded. The Astronettes were a trio of backing singers recruited by singer David Bowie, debuting at The 1980 Floor Show fan club concert recorded on 18-20 October 1973 at the Marquee Club, London. They consisted of his thengirlfriend Ava Cherry, his old schoolfriend Geoffrey MacCormack, under the alias Warren Peace, and Jason Guess, a friend of Cherry's. Bowie attempted to propel the group to fame, shortly afterwards taking them to London's Olympic Studios to record an album with himself as producer. The sessions were eventually abandoned as Bowie's own album, Diamond Dogs, took up more of his time. The masters remained in the possession of Tony DeFries, then manager of both Bowie and the Astronettes, while the group became backing singers on Bowie's subsequent American tour, and the album Young Americans. In 1995, Golden Years, the record imprint of DeFries' company MainMan Management released eleven tracks from the sessions as People from Bad Homes. The album was credited to "Ava and the Astronettes" in Europe, and "Ava Cherry and the Astronettes" in America, where it features a different cover and was issued by Griffin Music. Both versions also featured a hidden track on the CD, only accessible by skipping back from the first song - "I am Divine", an early version of Bowie's song Somebody Up There LikesMe . The collection has several other links with Bowie's later work I am a Laser would later be reworked as Scream Like a Baby for Bowie's 1980 album Scary Monsters, while the cover of The Beach Boys' God Only Knows has a similar arrangement to the one recorded by Bowie in 1984 for his album Tonight. The album's title itself is also a line in Bowie's song Fashion , also from Scary Monsters. The album featured four further Bowie compositions, as well as covers of Annette Peacock's Seven Days , Roy Harper's Highway Blues , Frank Zappa's How Could I Be Such a Fool? , the jazz standard I'm in the Mood for Love (subsequently sung by Cherry during The Mike Garson Band's support slot in the latter half of Bowie's 1974 US tour), and Bruce Springsteen's Spirit in the Night .¥2,085 (税込)ご注文できません -
