1952年にフォークウェイズ・レコードからリリースされた伝説的な6LP-BOX「アンソロジー・オブ・アメリカン・フォーク・ミュージック」。このBOXにはハリー・スミスが厳選した78枚のSP盤から構成されており、そこに収録された古いカントリー、ブルース、ケイジャン、ゴスペル音楽の録音と、独特のライナーノーツ、秘教的なアートワークは1950年代から60年代のフォーク・ミュージック・リバイバルの大きな推進力となり、「民謡を聴くのがヒップである」という価値の逆転を発生させました。
 
本作はそんな伝説的な「アンソロジー・オブ・アメリカン・フォーク・ミュージック」収録曲の「B面」のみを、オリジナルと同じ順番で収録した4CD BOXです。好事家のバイブルとも言われる「アンソロジー・オブ・アメリカン・フォーク・ミュージック」を読み解く一助としては勿論、ハリー・スミスの編集作業を追体験した気になれる究極のBOXと言えるでしょう。
