This CD features nearly an hour long live take of what would later develop into "Vortexual" Element Three (one of our personal favorites in the series) recorded at Jamal Wallace's (Antique Modulation) operation in the heart of Detroit. Recorded as an audio experiment using the A-112 modular wavetable (and a plethora of other modular synths), which allowed us to import our own audio sources manually, sculpt and shapeshift a myriad of sound sources live in the mix and the result was fathoms deep, undulating and beautiful. "Element Six" is reconstructed into a subliminal yet imaginative composition from the illusive Phase90 (cv313/echospace/intrusion/radius) project. Building on the complexity of the original but ebbs and flows in a lo-fi spirit thanks to downgrading the original source material, deceptively fluid in sound design but hypnotic in nature. Fragments of the original are filtered and looped from analog tape machines and an extensive array of vintage boutique guitar pedals and "real-time" loop stations to create a sort of immersive, impressionistic listening experience. There's a considerably darker hue in sound design, most likely attributed to the haunting qualities surrounding the field recordings conducted at a variety of cemeteries around Michigan.
