Performers at Womex 2016, have toured Europe and North America, including Roskilde Festival 2015 and Montreal Jazz Festival 2017, among others. Recorded just before the Covid pandemic between Lima and Bogotá, “El amor no es para los débiles” is Bareto’s second effort with Colombian producer Felipe Álvarez. The album marks the debut of singer Javier Arias in duets with some renown peruvian figures such as creole diva Bartola and technocumbia queen Rossy War. The album also features sonero and comedian Melcochita, and a bunch of Colombian guests, including singer María del Rosario Cardona and percussionist Chongo. The first single is “Tu Recuerdo”, a song that mixes cumbia with an Andean flavor. The promotional video is based in drawings by artist Amadeo Gonzalez, who also is responsible for the album artwork. 00年代以降、チーチャで火がついたペルー音楽を牽引した現行バンド BARETO 。クンビアにチーチャはもちろん、ラガマフィン、ダブ、サイケと言ったジャンルを完璧に咀嚼したラテンミクスチャー・サウンドは当時の流行に完全フィット、ここ日本のラテンシーンでも大いに大歓迎された。そしてこの度、彼らのキャリアの中で最も評価された2008年作『CUMBIA』が、10年の時を経て遂にLP化が決定。チーチャの歴史的ヒット曲 LOS MIRLOS「LA DANZA DE LOS MIRLOS」や、KAOMA「LAMBADA」などDJ的にもおいしい BARETO 流カバーを多数披露。現在世界的に実験的なラテン・サイケデリック・サウンドが脚光を浴びつつあるが、その源流にチーチャがあり、そして本作が新たなに再評価されるのは必然とも言えるだろう。南米音楽の輪廻を感じた。ラテン鈴木・Discos Eternos present the tenth anniversary of the most successful record of the Peruvian cumbia, Cumbia by Bareto, originally released on CD in 2008. ・On the album the band presents modern versions of Peruvian cumbia classics by combining ska, reggae and cumbia among other genres. ・Cumbia won also the Luces Award for the Best Peruvian Music/Fusion Album awarded by the newspaper El Comercio. ・Green vinyl; gatefold sleeve.In September 2008, Bareto released Cumbia on CD, an album that conquered wider markets. The complete record, a process that began at the end of 2007, is a tribute to a fundamental group of the Amazonian psychedelic, Juaneco y Su Combo. Bareto gives a modern and original sound to its classics, such as "Mujer Hilandera" and "Ya se ha muerto mi Abuelo", among others. In the other tracks like "Soy Provinciano", "El Aguajal", and "La Danza de Los Mirlos", by another Amazonian legend, Los Mirlos, the band continues its rescue of popular cumbia music. In a country where record piracy reigns, Cumbia received first a gold record and then a platinum one for its high sales. It won also the Luces Award for the Best Peruvian Music/Fusion Album awarded by the newspaper El Comercio and the artistic award of the APDAYC as the Revelation Artist of 2008. This same entity awarded Bareto as Artist/Pop Group of 2009 and as Artist/Fusion Group of 2010. Discos Eternos present a tenth anniversary edition of the album and it's first vinyl release. 南米ペルーのシーンで今、最も人気を獲得しているクンビア/チーチャミクスチャーバンド、BARETOの2012年!!!!!今作はクンビア、チーチャはもちろん、ラガマフィン、ダブ、サイケと言ったジャンルを完璧に咀嚼。極太のグルーヴをしっかりと聴かせてくれます。前作はかなりネイティブ色が強いイメージでしたが、今作では完全に自分達の色を見出すことが出来たのか、極上のダンスミュージック、上質なロック、ポップミュージックとして素晴らしく洗練されています。いや、つべこべ言ってますが、とにかく最高に体をゆらせ、踊らせてくれる傑作だと言うこと。ペルーの音楽についての知識なんていらないし、クンビアを聴いたことがなくても全く問題の無い作品。染み込むミッドテンポナンバーから、飛び跳ねて踊りたくなるキラーなアップテンポなナンバーまでバリエーションも抜群。前作同様、MANU CHAOやCHE SUDAKA、LA PEGATINAなど、バルセロナ周辺のミクスチャー好きにも最適。よく作り込まれたジャケットなどの装丁も素敵。全10曲収録。来日して欲しいですね。
