Baharulogia by Tribu BaharuTribu Baharú was born in the Colombian capital of Bogotà, far from the traditional heartland of champeta music, although their members mostly hail from the Caribbean coast. Steeped in the traditional sounds and rhythms of champeta, the band have suggested that — as with many classic champeta bands — the majority of their influence stems from the soukous they would hear at sound system parties when they were growing up on the coast. Following up on their 2017 debut single on Electric Cowbell, Tribu Baharú return to deliver this dance floor instrumental banger - "Baharulogía" - a driving, joyful track driven by a pulsating rhythm section that lays down the foundation for soaring and searing soukous-inspired electric guitar melodies. Recorded at the legendary Inner Ear studios in Washington DC and mixed by Names You Can Trust label boss Eric Banta. The flipside is a mixed-up and glitched-out dub version by Dutch producer and musician Solo Moderna!

LIMITED EDITION Electric Cowbell Records offer an exclusive Record Store Day limited-edition release 7'' 45RPM, a Champeta criolla and World music band from Bogot, Colombia. It's been denigrated and damned, boycotted and banned, but it can never be stopped: champeta, the ever evolving, high-energy hybrid of Columbian, African and Afro-Caribbean styles just keeps on coming. And leading a new charge are Tribu Bahar, barrelling out of Bogot, championing their version of champeta, inspired by the legendary, street-shaking Pico sound-systems of Colombia's Caribbean coast. Sparkling Congolese guitar driven by high-speed bass and drums and the all-animating upfront singers. Champeta was swept away by the ubiquitous Reggaeton in the '90s but Tribu Bahar are part of a wave of nuevas musicas Colombianas based in the capital city who are reestablishing it as a prime force and adding more ingredients to the recipe. Contain traces of soukous, zouk, calypso, mbaqanga, soca, compa Haitiano, rap and ragamuffin. Essential ammunition for the globally-minded DJ. Â Limited-edition 7'' 45RPM on black vinyl. Comes in full-color die-cut sleeve with center hole and full-color label.
