Their debut album Great Jobs marks the second release on their own ‘autonomy-first’ new label Field Research, and will be supported by a series of European live dates. An especially distinct release within a catalogue already synonymous with evolving output, the LP delves deeper into the realms of possibility. Li reached for different cues, using dub, post-industrial and post punk for fresh inspiration, voicing an “inner world soundclash”, and an alternative perspective. In gyrofield’s own words:This record came after two deeply personal records (Flower Burial, 2024; Suspension of Belief, 2025) where I probed my inner emotional world and reached for more authentic expressions of my worldview.The next change was to put personality at the forefront. Parts of my thoughts, impulses, dissatisfaction with the world, form and dissolve at the spotlight. Post-punk music became the canvas for re-contextualisation and re-expression, soundsystem music was the groundwork. These laid the foundation for so many genres in the 20th and 21st century. However it is not my prerogative to preach black excellence. I am here to pass on inspiration. My very own inner-world soundclash, with due respect. When I was younger I'd dream of sounds, first in my head, then on the computer, then into naive expressions of sound which would come back out to the real world. Feedback loops which reinforced convictions, love, and my own identity as a queer person. It was sometimes harrowing to see myself through the magic mirror. All flaws and angst and inadequacy. I felt this intimately whilst writing the album. It was all a part of me at some point, but having excised and dissected these characters within I could resign myself to the moving picture of identity. The flowing stream.   

〈HESSLE AUDIO〉〈PAN〉にも名を連ねるUKエクスペリメンタル・テクノの鬼才 Objektが主宰する新レーベル〈Kapsela〉の第3弾は、若干22歳の若さでロンドンと香港を股にかけ活躍するプロデューサーGYROFIELDが登場!!既に〈Metalheadz〉や〈XL Recordings〉といったUKレジェンダリーといえるレーベルからもリリースを重ねる人物が、本レーベル初となるObject以外のリリースに大抜擢!ドラムンベースを主に制作する人物ですが、今作ではテクノ、フリージャズ、ハウスからアイデアを拝借し、ミュータントなダンスミュージックにチャレンジ。リッチーホウティンの“Spastik”を彷彿とさせるスネアロールが特徴の“Bolete”、アップリフティングなベースサウンドと神秘的なパッドサウンドに、謎の日本語サンプリングが挟まる“Vegetation Grows Thick”、縁のある土地、ブリストルのレイヴを俯瞰するように、ステッパービートやサブベースが融合する“Rorschach”、ジャジーなサックスが、複雑なブレイクビーツのフィールドに遠方から飛来する“Brinjal”の4曲を収録。タイトルは人が創作された世界に入り込む概念を表す、不信の停止 (Suspension of disbelief)をもじり、今ある現実に向き合い、没頭するというメッセージが込められています。
