ライヴ・バンドとして圧倒的な評価を得ていたシン・リジィが、フィル・ライノット (ベース、ヴォーカル) 、ブライアン・ダウニー (ドラムズ) 、スコット・ゴーハム (ギター) 、ブライアン・ロバートソン (ギター) という黄金期の布陣で満を持して発表した2枚組ライヴ・アルバム『ライヴ・アンド・デンジャラス』 ―― 。彼らにとってキャリア最高となる全英2位をマークした同作に、未発表音源が大半を占める、CD7枚分のライヴ音源を追加した永久保存版。

Disc 1には、アナログ盤では2枚組だった『ライヴ・アンド・デンジャラス』の全曲を収録 (本作のために制作された新規マスターを使用) 、Disc 2〜4にはロンドンのハマースミス・オデオンで76年11月14日から16日に行われた3公演、Disc 5、6にはフィラデルフィアのタワー・シアターで77年10月20日と21日に行われた2公演、Disc 7にはトロントのセネカ・カレッジ・フィールド・ハウスでの77年10月28日の公演、そしてDisc 8にはロンドンのレインボー・シアターでの78年3月29日の公演をそれぞれ収録。
