NEW High-Definition 12” Vinyl LPs
The first two albums from the eclectic ’60s group including the anthem “Get Together”!
The Youngbloods were one of the most distinctive American bands of the late ’60s, embodying the freewheeling spirit of hippie folk-rock while maintaining an impressive level of musicianship that distinguished them from many of their contemporaries. Under the leadership of folk scene veteran (and future solo star) Jesse Colin Young, the Youngbloods.which also included guitarist Jerry Corbitt, keyboardist/guitarist Lowell “Banana” Levinger and drummer Joe Bauer.explored an eclectic mix of folk, country, blues, psychedelic and jug band influences, while keeping a playful sense of humor and a rocking electric edge that belied the band’s rustic hippie image. Many fans agree that the Youngbloods made their most audacious and enduring music on their first two albums, The Youngbloods and Earth Music, both released in 1967 and both produced by noted musician, arranger and future Mountain member Felix Pappalardi. These landmark albums are now back, sourced from the pristine, original RCA Victor analog mono master tapes. Both albums are pressed on ultra high-definition vinyl and feature their complete original cover art, meticulously restored with the loving care for which Sundazed is known.
The Youngbloods
The Youngbloods’ eponymous debut LP includes the band’s best-known song, “Get Together,” which became a Top Ten single.and one of the Aquarian Age’s definitive peace anthems.two years after its release. Beyond “Get Together,” The Youngbloods features the jaunty Corbitt-penned hit “Grizzly Bear,” a rocking reworking of Fred Neil’s “The Other Side of This Life” and memorable readings of Blind Willie McTell’s “Statesboro Blues,” Mississippi John Hurt’s “C.C. Rider” and Jimmy Reed’s “Ain’t That Lovin’ You, Baby” that underline the band’s knack for putting their stamp on classic blues material.
TRACKS: Grizzly Bear / All Over the World (La-La) / Statesboro Blues / Get Together / One Note Man / The Other Side of This Life / Tears Are Falling / Four in the Morning / Foolin’ Around (The Waltz) / Ain’t That Lovin’ You, Baby / C.C. Rider
