When I heard the rough mixes of this session I knew that this record had to be heard......Jon Atkinson is a 24 year old multi instrumentalist whose depth of understanding of old school 50's blues is phenomenal......His choice of songs ranges from rough Memphis/ Sun label covers to wild interpretations of raw post war Chicago gems along with a selection of originals that are hard to discern from the covers.......Joined by FRED KAPLAN from the HOLLYWOOD FATS Band and NATHAN JAMES, Atkinson shines on harmonica & guitar but his vocals are really his strong suit.......the kid can really sing!!!!.......Don't say i didn't tell you.........
