“Wow, wow, wow, wow, this is just incredible! I think that everybody should have this record, what an incredible version of Little Sunflower”
- Gilles Peterson
“Everything a reissue should be….compared to the original, the vinyl’s slightly heavier, the sleeve a bit thicker….and it sounds great. A welcome new lease of life for an album I’ve long cherished!”
- Patrick Forge
“Very pleased to see the this product on the shelves, top, top quality reissue and a sublime LP to kick off this exciting and fresh label – really looking forward to seeing more from Jazz Detective Records”
- Jean Claude
“Jazz Detective Records have dug up a true Latin jazz secret gem with this Bobby Rodriguez number. The 16 minute title track - which is a cover of Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Little Sunflower’ - says it all, backed by one of the best rhythm sections in Mtume and Leon Ndugu Chancler (Geroge Duke, Michael Jackson, Patrice Rushen & Weather Report)”
- Touching Bass DJs
“This 16 minute title track that starts with Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Little Sunflower’ transports me back to a smoky club in LA in the early 70’s watching a group of extremely talented musicians getting together to stretch out and let loose, Those who might have been in the club that night were truly fortunate, as are those who get this inaugural release from Jazz Detective Records”
