JIMMY JAMES AND THE BLUE FLAMESでJIMMY JAMESことのちのJIMI HENDRIXとともに活動、「ジミヘンがイギリスへ連れて行こうとした男」こと17歳の神童RANDY CALIFORNIAを中心に、ドラマーで彼の義理の父でもあったジャズ畑の異才ED CASSIDYとともに結成されたファミリー・ヒッピー・サイケ・バンドSPIRIT。

KOPTER AND THE (FABULOUS) TWIRLY BIRDS』に伴ったツアーの延長として73年に計画されながら、結局EPICによってお蔵入り。

『THE ADVENTURES OF KAPTAIN KOPTER & COMMANDER CASSIDY IN POTATO LAND』と題された81年ヴァージョンの全11曲に、オルタネイト・ヴァージョンや81年のRANDY CALIFORNIAへのインタビューを加えたDISC 2、
