1932年9月8日、ヴァージニア・パターソン・ヘンズリーとして生まれたアメリカのシンガー、ソングライター、ピアニスト、作曲家であるパッツィー・クラインは、ヴァージニア州出身。
20世紀で最も影響力のあるヴォーカリストの一人とされ、カントリー・ミュージックからポップ・ミュージックに進出した最初のアーティストの一人でもある。ビルボード・ホット・カントリー・ウェスタン・サイド・チャートで1位を2曲獲得するなど、8年間のレコーディング・キャリアで数曲の大ヒット曲を生み出した。
パッツィが生涯にリリースしたスタジオ・アルバムは、1957年の『Patsy Cline』、1961年の『Showcase』、1962年の『Sentimentally Yours』の3枚のみ。
さらに、彼女のレーベルであるデッカは、死後にさらに3枚の未発表LPをリリースした。
今回の3枚組CDコレクションには、これらすべてのアルバムが全曲収録されている。彼女はまた、どのアルバムにも収録されていないシングルを多数リリースしている。これらもここに収録されており、最も完全なパッツィー・クライン・コレクションのひとつとなっている。彼女の死後、クラインは20世紀で最も称賛され、尊敬され、影響力のあるパフォーマーの一人として挙げられてきた。彼女の音楽は、様々なスタイルやジャンルの演奏家に影響を与えてきた。また、カントリー・ミュージック界における女性の先駆者としても知られ、いち早くレコードを売り、コンサートのヘッドライナーを務めた。1973年、カントリー・ミュージックの殿堂入りを果たした初の女性パフォーマーとなった。
