売切 注文不可※LPヴィンス・ガラルディによる新編成『PEANUTS GREATEST HITS』がリリース。大人気"Peanuts"シリーズで使用された12曲+ガラルディのレアなヴォーカル・トラックをプラスした新ピーナッツ・コンピ。ライナーノーツはガラルディ研究家デリック・バングによる最新のもの。チャールズ・M・シュルツ による世界中から愛される"Peanuts"の面々はもともとは新聞に掲載されていたコミックだったが、その後TVや映画にもなり、そこで使用されたヴィンス・ガラルディの音楽も大いに盛り上げたのは周知の事実。ミネソタ州セント・ポールで生まれたチャーリー・ブラウン、ルーシー、ライナス、そしてスヌーピー、そしてヴィンス・ガラルディはもともとはサンフランシスコでカル・ジェイダー、ウディ・ハーマン、コンテ・カンドリなどと演奏していた。1964年初頭、TVプロデューサーのリー・メンデルソンがPeanutsの世界のドキュメンタリーを作り始めていたころ、ゴールデン・ゲイと・ブリッジを渡りながらラジオで聴いたのがヴィンス・ガラルディのグラミー賞も受賞したインストゥルメンタル・ヒット「Cast Your Fate to the Wind」。「これこそPeanutsにピッタリの音楽!」とピンときたそう。そしてその後10年間、ガラルディはPeanutsの数えきれないほどのTVスペシャルのために作曲し演奏し、いつまでも色あせない『A Charlie Brown Christmas』や映画『A Boy Named Charlie Brown』などの名作も生まれたのだ。本作には人気の「Linus and Lucy」をはじめ、「Oh, Good Grief」、そして季節ものの「Great Pumpkin Waltz」、「Thanksgiving Theme」、「Christmas Is Coming」なども収録。ほとんどの曲の演奏を手掛けるのがガラルディのトリオで、モンティ・ バドウィッグ(b)とコリン・ベイリー(ds)、そして後年のフレッド・マーシャル(b)とジェリー・グラネリ(ds)。さらにトリオの音だけでなくガラルディヴォーカルとホーンなどもフィーチャーした「Little Birdie」や「Christmas Time Is Here」のトリオ・ヴァージョンとクアイア隊も入ったヴァージョンも収録。37年間シュルツ氏とコラボレートしTVや映画を成功に導いたプロデューサーメンデルソン曰く、「ヴィンスはとっても正しくで完璧だった、チャーリー・ブラウンやほかのキャラクターに本当にピッタリを音楽を作ったんだ。僕の心の底から『これは絶対にうまくいくぞ!』って声が聞こえてヴィンスの音楽が全てを動かすと確信したんだ」。ガラルディは1976年に47歳という若さで他界、26年間の音楽キャリアの幕を閉じた。それは、彼が『It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown』のサウンドトラックの録音をちょうど終えた頃だった。¥3,410 (税込)ご注文できません -

売切 注文不可*4LPトニー・ベネットとビル・エヴァンスによる名盤2枚の録音の全てが重量盤アナログで登場。■数多くのオルタネイト・テイクやボーナス・トラックを収録したボックス・セット。デラックスなボックス・セットはコレクターが喜ぶリソグラフ,レアな写真やWill Friedwaldによるライナーノーツ(トニー・ベネットの自伝『The Good Life』の著者)などを掲載した12ページのブックレットも封入。■1975年のアルバム『Tony Bennett / Bill Evans』からすべてはスタートしたが、伝説の2人が優劣ない立場でグレート・アメリカン・ソングブックの名曲たち"The Days of Wine and Roses," "Young and Foolish", "The Touch of Your Lips"さらにビル・エヴァンスの代表曲"Waltz for Debby" にGene Leesの書いた詩を載せて歌うなど、とても熱のこもった、かつバランスのとれた作品でBennettも Evansも個々に輝いていて、協力し合った名盤。Bennettと Evansが選曲もし、ほぼ自発的にアレンジも考え、どのテイクを使うかも選んだ。Bennettは思い出す。「セッションの前には選曲に関しても2人で何も話さなかったよ。 僕が「この曲はどう?」と聞くとビルは「それはいいね!やってみよう!」てな具合でキーを探してやってみるみたいな感じだったんだ。」とBennett。■レコーディングの後にこの2人でいくつかライヴも行ったが、中でもNew Yorkで行われたNewport Jazz Festivalでの演奏は世界中でTV放映された。■1976年に Bennett and Evansは再びともにスタジオに入り『Together Again』を録音。この作品も前作同様のインプロヴィゼーション豊かなスタンダード・アルバムになっていてEvansのソロ"The Bad and the Beautiful" からはじまり、"Lucky to Be Me," "You're Nearer," "You Don't Know What Love Is.”とつづく。さらにEvansのオリジナル "The Two Lonely People"には Carol Hallの詩がのせられ田歌で盛り上がる。■どちらの作品も一緒にレコーディングされたもので素晴らしいオルタネイト・テイクがいくつもあり、本作ではそれらを収録。特にCole Porterの "Dream Dancing." などは必聴もの!(新譜案内より)¥15,400 (税込)盤質：- B

Titled The Dramatics Greatest Slow Jams, and set for release on Stax Records on April 29, 2014, this compilation stems predominantly from the band s breakout hits of the early '70s, a time when the band was recording with Stax-Volt as well as ABC Records. Tomorrow, a track originally released on Fantasy in 1985 by Dramatics vocalist L.J. Reynolds, has never before been made available on CD.This album includes such chart-toppers as Toast to the Fool and their popular number one R&B hit In the Rain. According to James My love life would have been dramatically reduced without The Dramatics music in my life.The Dramatics began as the vocal sextet The Dynamics in 1962 and signed to Stax-Volt Records in 1968, where they found great commercial and critical success. In 1971, they released Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get, which broke them into the top 10 of the Billboard charts with the title track and awarded them with their first gold album, selling over one million units. The following year, they released In the Rain, which went to number one on the R&B charts for four consecutive weeks and number five on the pop charts.The Slow Jams brand began as a late night radio show in 1994 by Kevin Slow Jammin' James called Sunday Nite Slow Jams.
