Clermont Music presents an album from Malian guitar genius Mamadou Kelly and his group Bankaina, representing the finest music in the tradition of the late Ali Farka Touré.
Having been among Touré's accompanists, Mamadou and two of his collaborators, Hama Sankare and Youro Cisse performed on many tours and recordings with Ali Farka. The group forms the nucleus of Alkibar, the backing group behind Afel Bocoum, another Malian master musician. Joining them on this recording is Baba Traore, the youngest brother in a family with a long tradition of highly-respected musicians.
