スペインのギタリストによるブラジリアン・ジャズ良作!スペインはバレンシア生まれで、現在はビジャレアルを拠点に活動するギタリスト、シンガー、Charlie Undershawのデビュー作は、ポルトガル語で歌われるブラジリアン・ジャズ作品。ポルトガルのコインブラに滞在し、言語を学び、ブラジルのギターのスタイルを学んだ結果から生まれた作品だとのこと。自作曲を中心に、ポルトガルを代表する詩人フェルナンド・ペソアの作詞曲を2曲含む内容はブラジル音楽ファンを間違いなく虜にさせるでしょう。Charlie Undershaw · 02 AGORA.WAVCharlie Undershaw is the musical project of Carlos Marín de Miguel, a composer and performer born in Valencia and settled in Villareal (Castellón). "Agora" ("Now" in Portuguese) is his first work and in it he takes a tour of the sounds of Brazilian jazz.The album, made up of 13 songs, is almost entirely sung in Portuguese (10 songs), two in English and an instrumental theme. The predominant language is not the result of chance, but of the composer's stay in Coimbra, Portugal, learning the language and, with the guidelines of a Brazilian guitarist, who taught him to play the guitar in the characteristic way of this country.Almost all the lyrics of the songs are his own, intimate songs that speak of the great universal themes, except for two themes in which he reproduces poems by the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa. In them, the composer makes a nod to Portuguese culture. In this new and luminous work, the talent of the famous musicians who participate in it stands out: Lucho Aguilar on double bass, Arantxa Domínguez on backing vocals, Tico Porcar on drums, Víctor Jiménez on sax and Pepe Zaragoza on trumpet.
