The debut album from Akabu is a retrospective yet futuristic delivery from Dave Lee, inspired by over 20 years in dance music’s history and touching on live instrumentation, contemporary sounds and dexterous electronic craftsmanship.
The album features collaborations with Andre Lodemann, Foremost Poets, Boomclap Bachelors, Tanya Michelle, Tony Momrelle and Joel Edwards…
"Dave has been an inspiration since his release on Transmat. His taste is prime and his music always blows me away whether it's as Joey Negro, the Sunburst Band or Akabu. And he does hell-of-an edit too!" Carl Craig, August 2010
"Dave Lee in his Akabu guise has produced a killer house album. Harking back to those days of Nu-Groove and Strictly Rhythm, Dave has made an album of warmth and toughness with that trademark Akabu sound but of course with a vibe firmly fixed in the present. This is real house music!" Ashley Beedle, August 2010
"Classy tunes with a nod to all my favourite Chicago and Detroit productions...definitely spinning these" Tom Middleton, August 2010
"Amazing! Deep, soulful, sexy electronic house music!" Josh Wink, August 2010
