20th Anniversary Edition · Remastered and available on vinyl for the first time
Twenty years after its original release, Jimpster’s Amour finally makes the leap to wax. Originally released
in 2006, Amour arrived at a pivotal point in Jimpster’s evolution - a record that saw Jamie Odell pushing
in a more electronic and housey direction while maintaining the lush, downtempo and eclectic sounds he
was known for. Two decades on, it remains a beautifully understated snapshot of its time, and one that has
lost none of its warmth, musicality or late-night appeal.
Now, for its 20th anniversary, Amour gets the vinyl treatment it never received first time around. The album
has been carefully remastered by Martin Iveson aka Atjazz for the occasion, bringing a little more weight,
space and clarity to a record built around subtle details, loose grooves and deeply musical production.
Across Amour, Jimpster moves effortlessly between the deep house of A Love Like This featuring
Diamondancer, the broken rhythms on Left & Right featuring Capitol A, jazz-inflected electronics on
Slippin’ featuring Elsa Hedberg and more introspective territory of Distant Light. Basslines roll,
percussion shifts beneath the surface, chords hang in the air and melodies emerge slowly from the
shadows. Its palette is unmistakably Jimpster - warm analogue textures, intricate drum programming,
soulful harmony and that particular balance between human imperfection and studio precision that has
become central to his work.
Looking back from 2026, Amour feels less like a document of 2006 and more like a record that somehow
existed slightly outside of time. For Freerange, it also represents an important chapter in the label’s history.
Twenty years on from the original release, the album returns in a format that feels long overdue: pressed on
vinyl, remastered with care, and ready to find its way into a new generation of record bags.
