2000年代のロックンロール・リバイバルの旗手にして、UKロック史にその名を刻むザ・リバティーンズが今もなお色褪せることのない衝撃のデビュー・アルバム『Up The Bracket』の発売20周年記念盤をリリース!!
カール・バラーとピート・ドハーティという二人のカリスマ的フロントマンを中心に97年に結成されたバンドがザ・クラッシュのミック・ジョーンズをプロデューサーに迎え、2002年10月21日にリリースされた本作はシンプルなロックンロールとDIY精神に溢れる活動で、タイトル通り当時の疲弊していたブリット・ポプ・シーンの喉仏に強烈なパンチを見舞い、若者を中心に圧倒的な支持を獲得。
NMEが2002年の「ベスト・ニュー・バンド」ととして取り上げ、『ローリング・ストーン誌が選ぶオールタイム・ベスト・デビュー・アルバム100』にも選出されているUKロックの金字塔として世代を超えて愛され続けている。
今回のアニヴァーサリー・リイシューにあたり、アルバム本編は最新リマスターが施され、世界4000セット限定のボックスには多数のオリジナル・デモ、ラジオ・セッション、ライブ録音を含む65もの未発表音源が含まれており、作品の制作過程を紐解くのに役立つほか、2002年の100クラブでのライブ音源や特典映像を含むDVDも収録。
また、マット・ウィルキンソンのライナー、アンソニー・ソーントンによるバンドの最新インタビュー、多くの未公開写真などが掲載された60ページのブックレットが同梱され、シリアル・ナンバーが刻印される。
