There are dreams that spawn in the mind, so personal and universal at the same time, that they won’t ever go away. There are also the modes that grip you, that inspire a young musician, as soon as he picks up his first guitar, to join a rock band. Rock bands, the young guitarist Elouan Jegat had dabbled with the idea. Author, composer, artist, he was a member of several bands from Brittany (Thomas Howard Memorial, Fingers and Cream) that he worked with over a period of ten years both on stage and in the studio. But no one forgets his first dreams that bubble deep down. Elouan sought to find the melodies that echoed inside in the same way as the rock. Skopitone Sisko was an idea pop dormant in the back of his head that came to the surface. Elouan looked back on the artists that inspired him, shacked up in his studio “Skodio” he turned up the volume to the sounds of Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Beck and the electro pop of Metronomy. Elouan studied their compositions, learned the mechanisms, in order to master the influences and started to create his music alone… a music in three dimensions with hypnotic melodies. The first EP from Skopitone Sisko, were released in 2018 on the indie label Upton Park. Mirror of sensations and colors, Kaleidoskope opened up the way for the next stage.Then, in 2020 just before the world was to slump into an unprecedented crisis the artist began to compose his first album. Profiting from this turbulent period he concentrated on the works that would be the artistic direction that he was to give to Skopitone Sisko, a mix of current tendencies between indie pop and the neo-vintage wave brought up to date by Altin Gün and Parcels. Creation woke up like a therapy. He worked alone in his studio toying with his ideas, tinkering with his melodies and recording with clockwork precision. His compositions were completed by the arrangements of Baptiste Le Solliec on drums and Ugo Heon on keyboards. The English lyrics were given the final touch by Kevin Twomey, the Irish singer from the band Bigger. Step by step Incognita started to take shape. Composed over a year, through the changes of season and their moods the twelve songs weave through time. It is not surprising that the first track TTMT (Take Time Make Time) is a pop rock anthem, an invitation for us to take our time. An incentive to let go that weaves a thread through the record across chill out & dance tracks like Dive with its steamy ambiance that we find later with Disko a retro-futurism track sung by Kevin Twomey which leads us away from the club to the omnipresent sirens of Miracles, a warning of the little time which we have to live. Time is also the past that resounds like today. The sensual refrain of Hours is a flashback to the memories of an old couple by the fireside, a scene that captures the dusty paintings hanging on the grandparents walls. Les Toiles de Ziem has the style of a French pop song, like Sébastien Tellier, where the melodies are taken by organic sounds and take us back to our roots. If time is the main theme of the album, no doubt it is related to relationships, those we continue to question like the enigmatic Chika with its groovy rhythm, which brings to life in a song the combination of reconciling, joy, nostalgia and peace. It questions the relationship within a couple, whether it would be a new encounter like Singapour with its strobe flashes, or a testing relationship like [69] where a man is a prisoner for too long in love affair and can’t break free. But life is not always so dark shown by the wistful Remember Tomorrow a gentle waltz born of the hope and envy to meet one’s soulmate over the sound of a melodica, a tribute to Gorillaz’s “Tomorrow Comes Today”. The only instrumental on the album, L’exercice, a distant cousin of the theme from “The Exorcist” is an interlude which introduces the last part of the album, a perfect reincarnation of a track, which served as a piano exercise to warm up the fingers at the beginning of past rehearsals. A mise en abyme in this album spanned by time. Incognita is the distant and mysterious land which surges at the end of the album, Terra Incognita a heartbreaking tribute, wrote in French, to the families who risk life and limb to try their luck in another country. But is this unknown land, is it the one trod by the family who arrived at their destination or the one, mystic and invisible, discovered by those who never made the trip? Woven with a red thread through the passage of time this debut album achieves the bet made by Skopitone Sisko, to plunge us into a floating dream, a fuzzy memory tainted with nostalgia

DOMMUNEにも出演歴があるパフォーマー兼プロデューサー NSDOSによる2ndアルバムがリリース!インターネット上で匿名の人々がロックダウン下でナイトクラブの閉鎖が相次ぐことについて議論するサイトを見て"自宅で自分のクラブを組織する"という着想を手に入れトラックを構築。身の毛のよだつボイスチェンジャーと冷ややかでメタリックな低音&サウンドで自身の居場所を再構築したメタリック・エクスペリメンタル・インダストリアル!
