Last 2020, the Catalan Rumba band Sabor de Gràcia celebrated its 25th birthday and celebrated it in a big way with a huge concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana with renowned guests such as the Cor Infantil de l'Orfeó Català, La Pegatina, Txarango , Els Catarres, Macedònia, Dj Panko and the rappers Moncho Chavea & Original Elias among others.This show is reflected now, two years later, on this CD, which includes a selection of songs from their latest release "25A", as well as their most emblematic songs and some versions of very popular songs.Sabor de Gràcia was accompanied, exceptionally for this event, by a band of 20 musicians.A great show, unheard of on stage until now, to commemorate the 25-year history of Sabor de Gràcia, the reference group of Rumba Catalana and the gypsy representation of Catalonia.

これは抜群にカッコイイ!サルサ・ファンにもお奨め。スペインはバルセロナのルンバ・フラメンコ・ミクスチャー・ユニット、デビュー作。フラメンコと、20世紀前半に世界中に広まったキューバのソンが結びついた音楽で、とりわけカタルーニャ地方の場合ルンバ・カタラーナと呼ばれるようだ。これまで紹介されてきたCALIMAなどよりも、よりキューバ/プエルト・リコのサルサを匂わせるトラックから、サンバ、レゲトン、アラブまで非常に幅広い音楽性が魅力。バルセロナ、ルンバ・カタラーナ・シーンの中心であるオホス・デ・ブルッホのメンバーも参加ている。The Catalan Rumba is a music style so genuine to the city of Barcelona as sometimes to be called ‘Barcelona Rumba’. It emerged in the mid fifties chiefly inspired by Cuban and Puerto Rican sounds and a pronounced Latin Salsa rhythm akin to the New York Hispano bands of the seventies. The ‘ventilador’ - the fan-like motion of striking the guitar strings - is another specific ingredient of this music style along with the vocals and the handclapping percussion known as ‘palmas’. All three together make this Rumba style valuably diverse. Sabor de Gràcia is named after Barcelona quarter of Gràcia, home to a small community of Catalan Gypsies where this music style has its roots. It is now one of its leading bands, and on Sabor Pa' Rato, stays true to the tradition of the grand rumba maestros, such as El Pescaílla, Peret or Gato Pérez, while adding a modern touch of its own brand.Artists of renowned local or international stature have contributed to this record: Ojos de Brujo, José El Francés, Jerry Medina (Fania All Stars), Negri (Barberia del Sur), Los Manolos, Chonchi Heredia etc.myspace
