メキシコ出身の作曲家:Raul Valverdeによるワンマンチェンバー・ロックプロジェクト:EL ARCA DE VALJOS、自身のbandcampでデジタル・リリースされていた'14年作がメキシコ:Kathmandu Recordsより'21年フィジカル・リリース!メキシコではDECIBELを筆頭にBANDA ELASTICA/OXOMAXOMA/CULTO SIN NOMBREなどなど、いわゆるレコメン系と共鳴するアングラなアヴァン・ミュージックシーンが70年代から現在に至るまで細々とながら続いていますが、本作もその流れにあるアルバムです。フランスの哲学者ミシェル・フーコーの著作'Folie et Déraison: Histoire de la Folie à l'âge Classique'をモチーフとしており、同書で取り扱うハンセン病患者の監禁を音のみで生々しく描写。シンセ・ストリングスとエレクトロニクスによる陰鬱としたシリアスなチェンバー・ミュージックはまさにART ZOYD直系といえる音像ながら、如何せんプログラミングによる多重録音であるために流石にどこかしら薄っぺらい印象を持たれるのも確か。どちらかというとモダン・クラシカルにゴシックロック風のホラー要素を融合させた作品と云えます。ともかくもダーク表現に関しては一級線のバンド/ミュージシャンに勝るとも劣らない、秀逸な一作です。DECIBEL/SYNTOMAのAlex Eisenringが録音/マスタリングを担当。【Digipack仕様】
