マイケル・ブレイク(1951-):アフリコスモス

南アフリカの作曲家マイケル・ブレイクの大作組曲「Afrikosmos アフリコスモス」。バルトークの「ミクロコスモス」とアフリカ各地の先住民族の音楽に触発されたこの作品は、若い演奏者や専門家向けのさまざまな難度による小品で構成されています。 ほとんどの作品にはアフリカ独自の音階やハーモニー、音楽技法が用いられており、演奏するピアニストには指を鳴らすなど打楽器的な奏法や、時には口笛を吹くなど多彩な表現が要求されます。
